In a current project, the mixer is being used in a concrete tank with a diameter of 79 ft., a total height of 82 ft., and a capacity of 2.629.000 gal (US). The digester is filled to a height of 74 ft. and processes input materials such as manure, slurry, corn, grass, and other residues - with a dry matter content of up to 15%.
The parameters, with a pH value of 6.5 to 8 and temperatures up to 108 °F, require reliable homogenization combined with energy-efficient operation.
The Z-MIX is designed precisely for this purpose. The SUMA central mixer in this biogas plant operates with a 45 kW motor at 11 rpm and combines V4A and steel components for maximum durability in gas and liquid environments.
Three mixing levels, each with a paddle diameter of 5,800 mm, ensure powerful and consistent mixing even in large tanks. The non-contact labyrinth seal with liquid barrier media and an integrated level sensor further enhance operational safety.
The installation includes a specially designed mounting frame for concrete tanks - optimally tailored to the structural conditions.
Our Z-MIX central mixer demonstrates once again what efficient and robust agitation technology can look like in large biogas plants.
What does this mean for plant operators?
- Homogeneous mixing even with challenging substrates
- High operational reliability thanks to robust materials
- Energy-efficient operation
- Low maintenance requirements due to direct external access to the motor, bearings, and seal
- Perfectly coordinated stirring technology from a single source: combination with SUMA submersible mixers and long axis agitators possible if required
